The widow’s outreach program is made up of a small number of disadvantaged elderly ladies from the surrounding community.  Every month a staff member from Murchison River Lodge personally checks in on each woman and delivers a care package to their homes. The package contains essential items such as cooking oil, salt, sugar, coffee, tea, rice, posho and washing soap.
