In early 2017 Murchison River Lodge launched free English and maths lessons for women in the local community. What started as a small initiative has naturally grown, attracting women of all ages, from young adults to elders, who now attend the once-weekly classes hosted by MRL staff.

These lessons offer much more than language and maths skills. They provide a supportive space where women can gather, share news and build lasting friendships. It’s become a place of both learning and connection, fostering unity and mutual support.

Through this initiative, Murchison River Lodge strengthens its ties to the community, promoting not only education but also personal growth, empowerment, and solidarity among the women.
